ONYX2: KAPUTT??? kommt kein Bild...

Hallo in die Runde,

den Monitor habe ich noch immer nicht "ausgegraben", aber die ONYX2 mittels Nullmodemkabel an den PC gestöpselt:

Frage: wie kann ich rausfinden, welche Grafikauflösung eingestellt ist?

Und wie bekomme ich 1280 x 1024 @ 60 Hertz hin, damit ich mein TFT anschliessen kann?

Das TFT hatte ich angeschlosen und es gab überhaupt kein Bild

das console=g bedeutet doch, dass ich mit dem geeigneten Monitor eigentlich ein Bild haben müsste, oder?

Mit welchem Kommando finde ich denn heraus, welche Auflösung momentan eingestellt ist und wie ändere ich sie ggf.

Und wieso kann ich mein externes CD-ROM nicht auswählen, um in Ruhe mein IRIX zu installieren?

Ich habe doch keine Lust, jedesmal zur ONYX zu krabbeln und die CDs da hochkannt einzusetzen

Hallo Thomas,

ich glaube nicht, das deine Onyx2 kaputt ist. Es kann irgendeine komische Auflösung eingestellt sein, die auf deinem Display nun nicht funzt. Bei meiner Onyx waren Splitauflösungen für mehre E-Home Projektoren eingestellt, die kein TFT kann. Logischerweise kommt dann auch kein Bild.

Die Auflösung die eingestellt ist, gibt die IR2 sofort nach dem Einschalten direkt auf dem Bildschirm an der Unterkante aus. Da stehen dann alle relevanten Werte.

Wenn der Bootmonitor geladen wird, ist die Anzeige natürlich weg.

Auf jeden Fall hab ich noch nicht gesehen, das im Maintenance Mode Grafikauflösungen angezeigt werden. Das die Grafik online ist, siehst Du an diesem Spruch im hinv: KONA Graphics Board, Module 1, Slot io4

Alles in allem sieht der hinv-v bei dir genauso aus wie meiner.

Ich würde die Kiste über die Konsole installieren, und dann bei laufendem IRIX die Startauflösung neu konfigurieren.

nach Neuinstallation wird alles gut. War bei meiner onyx auch so.
Das mit dem externen lw sollte eigentlich klappen

So, IRIX ist endlich installiert (man muss nur den richtigen Terminator auf das externe CD-ROM stecken).

Den Monitor habe ich auch ans Licht gewuchtet.
