Fehler beim Vorbereiten der Platte (fx, partition, volheader) oder setenv im PROM? Voll kann die Platte kaum sein wg. Minimalinstallation auf 4GB

Hast Du vielleicht vergessen eine Swap-Partition einzurichten.
Wieviel Haupspeicher hat denn die Maschine ?

was mich verunsichert ist, dass die Maschine beim Anschalten jedesmal "check device/cable.."  moniert, mit der 4GBPlatte, [..] *snipp*

Auf ein Neues!

Platte war nicht richtig initialisiert/partitioniert. Wieso ist mir schleierhaft. Daten waren weg, 4GB verfügbar, dann als rootdisk partitioniert und nach dem Schreiben des volumen headers waren die userdaten wieder drauf  und ich habs nicht bemerkt ::) - wie geht denn sowas ??

Danach gelange ich ins Maintainence Menue und kann das System ganz normal ohne weitere Fehlermeldung starten.. Wer kennt sowas?

Hast Du nen Abschlusswiderstand hinten dran ?

Was passiert, wenn Du alle Laufwerke entfernst ?
Meckert die Diagnose immer noch ?
Es könnte sein, dass eines der Flachbandkabel im Drivesled das Problem verursacht  ...
