Nachdem ich heute die offizielle Erlaubnis von Satu Heikkilä erhalten habe, den Link zur IRIX-Demo von Realsoft 3D zu posten, will ich dies hiermit auch direkt tun:

You can download the IRIX version at
http://www.realsoft.com/packages/realsoft3d-26.41b-beta-irix-mips.sh
During the setup in the User Information -dialog just type "demo" in the
serial number box.

Yes, of course you can post the link. Thank you for thinking of it.

Please note that Realsoft 3D for IRIX (mips) is still in beta stage. New
release is estimated to be available in the begin of this year- supporting
latest  SGI operating systems.  At the moment we are converting new native
IRIX setup..

das war ja klar.

Jetzt hab ich das Teil runtergeladen (16,7 MB) und kann nix damit anfangen.

Wie zum Henker installiert man denn eine *.sh Datei ???

eine Shelldatei, zum starten:

$ chmod +x <file.sh>
$ ./<file.sh>

oder wie es eigentlich gedacht ist:
$ sh <file.sh>

Schön, dass Du das Programm in Erinnerung rufst - ich muß doch mal eine Lanze für Realsoft brechen. Für den Preis ein derart mächtiges Paket, und das seit vielen Jahren völlig unterschätzt, dabei haben sie doch inzwischen was an der Oberfläche getan *g*
